WILTSHIRE’S Clinical Commissioning Group, the new GP-led commissioning organisation which will be responsible for buying local health services in Wiltshire, has appointed Simon Truelove as its chief finance officer.
Simon has worked in the NHS for 23 years, covering both provider and commissioning roles. In 2002 he was appointed finance director of Swindon PCT and since then has a number of interim positions, supporting organisations during times of complex change, specifically at Great Western Ambulance Service, NHS Bristol and SEQOL in Swindon. Most recently he has been working as an interim Group Director of Wiltshire’s CCG.
Simon will have the responsibility of managing the CCG’s budget of about £460m. His key objectives will be to lead, develop and implement a financial strategy which supports the commissioning of high quality health services in Wiltshire.
Simon said: “We have a huge opportunity to make a difference to ensure that the whole health and social care system works effectively.”
