PROUD parents Isha Bowd and Muri Balogun are celebrating a double success after daughter Aulani won top prize in the Swindon Advertiser’s Baby of the Year competition.

The couple’s elder daughter Saphiya, who is five in November, won the competition four years ago.

“We couldn’t believe it that the family had won again,” said Isha, of Ash Break, Abbey Meads.

“When I got the phone call I was just picking Muri up from work and I was screaming and shouting. We are all so proud of the girls.”

The competition, sponsored by Persimmon Homes Wessex, attracted hundreds of entries but Aulani, two, received the most votes from Adver readers. She wins a framed portrait and trophy, courtesy of Fraser Portraits, and £500 in cash.

“I don’t care about the money, it is just great to have won,” said Isha, 32.

“We’ll put Aulani’s picture up next to the one we won of Saphiya in the living room above the TV. We are thinking about trying for another baby so maybe we’ll aim for a hat-trick.”

She said her youngest daughter, who attends Westgate Nursery in Highworth, is not always as angelic as her photograph suggests.

“She is a very strong-minded little woman,” said Isha, who works at Brooks Bakery in Highworth.

“She is very determined and she definitely rules the roost, even though she has an older sister. We all know who’s boss.

“At nursery though they say she is very quiet, I’m sure that will change though.”

She said some of the prize money will go towards a Christmas present for Aulani but the rest will go into her bank account.

The two runners-up in the competition are Florence-Rose Eustice and Sophie Evans. They both win £250, a trophy and framed portrait from Fraser Portraits.
