TNT’s new super-depot in Swindon provided the perfect backdrop for employees and customers alike when they celebrated the company’s 70th anniversary recently.

Managing Director for the UK Domestic business, Marianne Culver, and Tony Jakobsen, Managing Director TNT UK International & Ireland, welcomed customers to the site, which began operating as a depot and hub in August 2015 at Milne Way, G Park in South Marston.

At the event, customers, including logistic experts from Clarks, The Consortium, Linsar, Black Ginger, Allmakes, and TE Connectivity, were given a business update from TNT CEO Tex Gunning, followed by a tour of the facility by Swindon Depot Manager, Kevin Allen.

TNT Swindon sorts 20,000 items a night as a hub for deliveries and collections across the South West, as well as providing a local collection and delivery service to businesses throughout the Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire areas, connecting with TNT's extensive national and international networks.

“This £15million Swindon investment has allowed us to improve the premium-delivery services we offer in the area, such as before 9am,” said Marianne.

“Plus we have created additional capacity across our extensive UK network, allowing us to improve our overall customer service.”

The company is also expanding its international operation in the UK by building a 600,000 sq ft road hub near Dartford, Kent.

Tony explains: “This development is due to open in spring 2017 and will help us improve our service quality by increasing operational efficiency, similar to what we have so successfully achieved here in Swindon.”
