The Outside Clinic, based in Old Town, has won an award recognising it excellent customer service.

The clinic, which employs around 200 people in Swindon, is one of the largest and most established home visiting optician and hearing specialist, serving more than 100,000 patients across the UK.

The clinic won the prestigious Direct Commerce Association (DCA) award for Outstanding Customer Service at an awards dinner in June.

Accepting the award on behalf of The Outside Clinic, which this year celebrates its 30th Anniversary, was head of patient contact, Helen Francis who said, “We are extremely proud of the service we provide for people who are unable to access services in the high street. It’s fantastic to receive this public recognition of the dedication and commitment of our teams.”

A spokesperson for the DCA said: “The Outside Clinic is the UK’s leading home visiting optical and hearing service. By offering eye tests and hearing tests at home it brings a valuable service to vulnerable elderly people who would otherwise not have access to this essential healthcare. The judging panel were impressed with the high standards of care, professional backup and pioneering approaches to healthcare delivery"
