TROWBRIDGE police officers had their job done for them yesterday, after a man wanted on warrant came into the station to complain about his details being posted on Facebook.
Robert Stubberfield, 19, of no fixed abode, was charged with theft from Peacocks last Thursday and bailed to appear before Chippenham magistrates on March 26.
After his details were published on the Trowbridge Neighbourhood Policing Team Facebook page, he went to the station in Polebarn Road to complain.
However, while at the station officers noticed that a warrant had been issued for his arrest for failing to attend court last Thursday for a previous charge of theft and he was arrested.
He was then taken to Melksham Police Station, where, after police carried out a search, he was charged with possession of Class A drugs.
An update on Trowbridge NPT’s page yesterday said: “Robert Stubberfield 19yrs of no fixed abode has been charged with possessing Class A drugs after turning up at Trowbridge Police Station to complain about being named on Facebook.
“He was arrested on an outstanding warrant.”
