AN awareness session for the police and crime commissioner elections is to be held at the offices of Voluntary Action Swindon, at 1 John Street, tomorrow.
The Black South West Network in partnership with BTEG (Black Training and Enterprise Group) and Voluntary Action Swindon are hosting the session to build public interest in the countywide poll on November 15 and the role of the police commissioner.
Neena Samota will be attending from BTEG to brief attendees on the accountability of police and crime commissioners for tackling crime in their police force area, including some of the powers that will be given to them.
Candidates for the Wiltshire area have been invited.
Registration is at 1.45pm for a 2pm start and a 4pm finish.
To confirm attendance, email Mina Bhogal mina@bswn.org.uk or leave a name and number with Voluntary Action Swindon on 01793 538398.
