Swindon Robins' Aussie duo Troy Batchelor and Dakota North have been handed places in their country's Speedway World Cup squad.

The Aussies begin their campaign on July 26 at King's Lynn when they take on Great Britain, USA and a qualifier.

British Transport Police are appealing for information following a disturbance on First Great Western’s 2030hrs Bristol Temple Meads - London Paddington service on Friday, June 20, as the train travelled from Swindon to Didcot Parkway. Story here.


Wiltshire Police have confirmed that a warrant of further detention has now been granted by a Magistrate for the 28 year old arrested on suspicion of the murder of Tom Rogers. 

This allows a futher 36 hours detention in police custody.




Donald and Suzanne Barnes of The Cullens, Highworth, will face trial by judge and jury accused of carrying out a series of sexual offences against two girls between August 2000 and August 2005. They each pleaded not guilty to four counts of indecency with a child and two of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Case adjourned until November 10.
