THE father of a teenager is appealing for her safe return after the search for her moved to Swindon.

West Yorkshire Police were in the town on Wednesday looking for 15-year-old Shanice Buckle after school friends said she was heading from Huddersfield to the town.

The schoolgirl has been missing from her home in the Crosland Moor area of Huddersfield since 8.30am on March 29 when she left home to go to school.

Instead of going to school, Shanice was last seen in Huddersfield town centre with two male friends.

It is believed that she has then travelled to London with the two friends but police have come to Swindon after information received from school friends.

Shanice’s dad, Eric, is concerned she may have gone off with someone she met on the internet.

“She was talking to a gentleman online and I thought something didn’t add up,” he said.

“I last saw her before she went to school on that Tuesday she got dressed for school wearing black leggings, her school shirt and tie.

“I didn’t know anything until the school rang saying she had not been at school because of a doctor’s appointment, which I knew she didn’t have.

“She has not been in contact at all and it is getting a matter of urgency.

“This is not like her, she is a model student. I just want to know she is OK.

“They are looking in the Swindon area because my daughter had said to a couple of her friends two weeks ago that she had said about going there.

“Unfortunately this information may have come to late.”

Shanice is around 5ft 5ins tall, of medium build and with long, red and brown hair in ringlets. She has brown eyes and a piercing on her top lip.

Shanice was last seen wearing a black cardigan, black blouse, a red and black tie and black leggings.

Police are also looking in the Hackney area of London and Portsmouth.

They are appealing for anyone who sees Shanice, or knows of her whereabouts to contact the Kirklees Missing Person unit on 0845 606 0606.
