TONY Blair's departure from Government must be regarded as the best thing that's happened in British politics for years.

However, his appointment as a peace ambassador for the Middle East is so perverse that it can be likened to appointing King Herod as the patron saint of the Save The Children charity.

This is the man who took the nation to war based on a false pretence of weapons of mass destruction.

This is the man who has the blood of brave and poorly equipped British soldiers on his hands.

This is the man whose actions have resulted in the death of thousands of innocent civilians in Iraq.

This is the man who, during his ten years as Prime Minister, did nothing to resolve the problems in Lebanon.

Many of us regarded Mr Blair, pictured, as nothing more than a career politician.

His immediate resignation as a MP as well as Prime Minister proves that he has little stomach for the mundane duties of representing his constituents' interests.

K KANE.
