TV PRESENTER Tony Robinson will be the special guest at a conference to discuss caring for vulnerable adults in Swindon.

The host of Time Team, pictured, took part in a documentary earlier this year about his mother Phyllis, who suffered from dementia.

The programme was part of Channel 4's The Trouble With Old People season.

His experiences will form the basis of the speech.

The day, which will also include contributions from Superintendent Paul Williams, of Wiltshire Police; Graham Pearson, the council's director of adult social care and Jo Osorio, the director of Age Concern Swindon.

The conference, on February 1, at the Oakfield Campus, University of Bath in Swindon, will include a series of workshops on safeguarding vulnerable adults.

A number of trade stands will offer information on training and resources.

Tickets for the event, organised by the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce, cost £20. For more information call 01225 355553.
