A SWINDON couple have admitted starving their 11-month-old daughter to death.
Yesterday, the 29-year-old father and 25-year-old mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter at Bristol Crown Court.
Sentencing was adjourned for pre-sentence reports and psychiatrist tests to be carried out.
The court had previously heard that the baby died as a result of severe malnutrition and neglect before her first birthday.
The charges against the girl's parents date from September 23, 2004, to April 27, 2005.
The father, wearing a grey tracksuit top, and mother, in a black jacket with fluffy collar, spoke only to enter their plea, and to confirm their names and addresses.
The couple were granted bail until the sentencing hearing at Bristol Crown Court, at a date to be set.
