TWO more schoolboys have been charged with the Ridgeway hammer attack as a fourth person appeared in court.

It means that a total of six people have been charged in relation to the assault on 15-year-old Ridgeway pupil Henry Webster on January 11, with four of them now having been in court.

The pair, who are both 14, were charged last night. They are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court next month.

Amjad Qazi yesterday became the first adult to be brought before the courts as part of the investigation.

The 18-year-old, of Broad Street, is accused of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

College student Qazi was released on bail until February 2 when he is scheduled to appear at Swindon Crown Court.

Until then he must abide by a curfew from 11pm until 6am and he has to report to the police twice a week.

The teenager has also been told not to go to Wroughton or contact anyone involved in the case and he must surrender his passport.

Three youths, aged 17, 15, and 14, appeared in court on Monday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

The eldest has been remanded in custody and the younger two have been bailed until all three appear before Swindon Youth Court on February 19.

The two 14-year-olds charged yesterday will also be in court on that day.

Speaking after the latest developments, the officer leading the case said the matter was far from over.

"Obviously inquiries are still on-going," Det Sgt Mark Wilkinson, pictured left, of Swindon CID, said.

"We anticipate further developments and we have lots of information still coming in.

"We don't want people to sit on what they know and think that it is all over.

"It's imperative that we keep the momentum going and get the public's co-operation.

"If people tell us what they know then we can decide what is important rather than people thinking it's not relevant.

"The important thing is keeping the information flowing. We don't want people to think it's done and dusted because this is far from over."
