A PERVERT cyclist with a history of flashing has been jailed for a year.

Scott Wicks was caught exposing himself to a woman out walking her dog by a lake near Cheney Manor in September last year.

And the court was told that the 21-year-old has a history of sex attacks on women or young girls, often committed while he was out on his bike.

The dreadlocked dad will now be banned from approaching women he doesn't know in public places, going within 100 metres of a school or playground or even using a bike.

Richard Shepherd, prosec-uting, told Swindon Crown Court the victim was confronted by Wicks.

"She shouted at him in not the most polite terms to please put it away and get away," Mr Shepherd said.

Wicks, of Argyle Street, Gorse Hill, pleaded guilty to exposure.

The court heard that as well as previous convictions for indecent assault and exposure there were a number of other matters that had not led to court proceedings.

On at least 10 occasions Wicks had approached women, often on his bicycle, and touched them, as well as making lewd remarks.

On one occasion a 17-year-old girl punched him in the face after he cycled up and touched her before asking her for sex.

Andrew Hobson, defending, said his client was a young man and some of the offences were committed when he was a youth. But he was now settled down with his partner and their young child.

Referring to the previous matters Judge Tom Longbotham said: "That is a very worrying history for someone of any age, never mind for one as young as you.

"There have of course already been attempts to assist you and so far nothing has worked.

"I have no doubt it is necessary to make a sexual offenders' prevention order in terms I have already gone through in detail."

Speaking of the teenager who hit Wicks, he said: "In the context of this case and the type of sexual behaviour there is a very real risk it will escalate further "And next time there is physical contact there won't be a person of such resolve, as it is well known to judges who judge these cases that victims freeze' and don't do anything."

As well as jailing Wicks for a year the judge imposed a nine-month extended licence and the sexual offenders' prevention order.
