A drug dealer who was caught with cannabis in Marlborough has been found to have profited from crime to the tune of almost £120,000.

But Harry Wordley has been told that he will only have to hand over £4,470, almost all of which was seized by the police when they arrested him.

The 23-year-old's case was back before Swindon Crown Court for a hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Judge Peter Blair QC found that Wordley had benefitted from crime to a value of £119,926.03p, but only had £400 to his name.

He gave him three months to pay that and sign over the £4,070 seized by officers when he was arrested or face a one month jail term.

Should he come into money in the future it will be open to the authorities to return and confiscate the remaining £115,000.

Wordley was arrested twice over a three day period at the start of last year and found with drugs.

On the first occasion officers stopped him in a car on Friday, January 2, then 48 hours later he was pulled over in The Parade and found with more drugs.

On the second occasion he was also found to have a mobile phone which showed he had been dealing.

And when he was asked about the messages and replied 'You can obviously tell at one point in my life I had been selling cannabis'.

Wordley, of Kirkham House, Burbage, admitted possessing cannabis and possession with intent to supply.

After, hearing he was just a small time dealer selling to fund his own £10-a-day habit, a judge imposed an eight-month jail term suspended for a year with 100 hours of unpaid work.
