WORK on 38 new houses on the outskirts of Devizes that will provide a mix of smaller homes is underway.
Aster Group was given planning permission earlier this year for the development at Hambleton Avenue, next to its own headquarters, after the land was bought from Gaiger Bros.
The new homes will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties on a brownfield site that was originally part of Le Marchant Barracks.
The development will keep a footpath between neighbouring schemes and Lidl and B&Q, as well as preserving the large lime trees that were part of the original barracks.
