SWINDON TOWN: CHRISTIAN Roberts says Town must banish any disappointment at missing out on a glamour tie and focus on a winnable' clash at Crystal Palace.

The Welshman scored the late penalty against Morecambe on Saturday which booked the club's place in the third round of the FA Cup.

Hopes of a huge money-spinning trip to one of the Premiership's giants were swiftly dashed when Paul Sturrock's men were handed a January visit to Selhurst Park.

Hardly a match to set the pulses racing but vice-captain Roberts insists it must be viewed as a chance to progress further.

Roberts, who scored in a 2-2 pre-season encounter with Palace at the County Ground, said: "I guess it's a case of mixed emotions.

"Of course, everyone's looking for a big tie and it's almost a waste' when you see Liverpool drawn against Arsenal.

"Still, we've got to go to Palace and it's what I'd call a real working' tie. We have to go there and really roll our sleeves up.

"What this draw has done is given us a chance, a chance to progress. Then, who knows?

"For me though, yes, it's a winnable tie.

"It doesn't have to be the end of the FA Cup line for us.

"But, let's keep our focus. There's an awful lot of football to be played between now and then, starting at Mansfield."

Manager Paul Sturrock was less than impressed with Saturday's win which booked the trip to Palace and there will be consequences for some.

Heads will roll ahead of tomorrow night's League Two trip to Field Mill.

Sturrock says both Michael Timlin and Frenchman Sofiane Zaaboub are likely to feature against the Stags.

He said: "Some will bite the dust as far as their selection is concerned for their performance (against Morecambe) and others will have to make sure they perform to the standards I want to achieve to keep their places.

"If we are going to be promoted then we're going to have to perform much better."

As for matters off the pitch, following the news that Bill Power is the financial force behind a fans' consortium, Sturrock says he will leave boardroom issues to those upstairs.

However, he insists he is very happy' with the people he is working with at the moment.
