CHRIS Martin looks set to make his full Swindon Town debut tonight against Brentford.

The on-loan Norwich striker, who came off the bench to make his first appearance for the Robins in the 4-1 win over Yeovil on Saturday, appears to be Town boss Paolo Di Canio’s first choice to replace the injured Andy Williams.

Williams injured his knee against Glovers at the weekend and will now be sidelined for at least a fortnight, and Di Canio has hinted that he will hand Martin a start in his place.

“Chris had his first game and 45 minutes were okay but now he has to start from the beginning and fight every single second,” he said.

“We want to see what condition he’s got and we expect a good job technically but it will take two or three weeks to get him fit and then we will see with 25 days or one month to go of his loan.”

Town are awaiting the results of a scan on Williams’ knee, when the full extent of his problem will be revealed.

Di Canio said: “I hope it is the minimum, but even if there is nothing big it is a minimum of two weeks he has to rest.”
