Turnell triumphs in Sprawsons Trophy

ALAN Turnell won the Sprawsons Trophy at Marlborough Golf Club after countback following a round of nett 70.

Turnell saw off competition from Mr R Jones and John Kitching to secure the title.

In the Seniors Kerley Cup, held on November 5, Roger Henry emerged victorious with a total of 42 stableford points. Alan Pryor was second with 36 and Robbie Robertson third with 34.

The Midweek Turkey Trot on November 7 was claimed by Richard Farmer with a score of 41 points, with Simon Matton (40) and Guy Piercy (39) just behind.

The Saturday Turkey Troy on November 10 saw Ian Nelson take top prize with 45 points. Simon Matton was second with 43 and Steven Horne third with 41.

In the ladies’ section, Pauline Ruddick won the Sprawsons Trophy with a round of nett 73, as Isobel Henry and Gwen Stuart came second and third.

Riddock also claimed the Midweek Turkey Trot with a score of 31 points, with Sue Tulloh and Ruth Hodgson second and third respectively.

The ladies’ Turkey Troy on November 10 was won by Setsuko Morimoto (34 points) ahead of Miss N Chapman and Henry.

Karen Gosling won the Turkey Trot on November 18 after countback. Trish King came second with a score of 33 points and Amanda Cooper third with 32.
