PAOLO Di Canio snuck into the County Ground in the dead of night to retrieve mementos of his time at Swindon Town, the Advertiser understands.
The Italian, who left the club on Monday, still had a set of keys to get into the stadium and is believed to have been caught on CCTV returning to his office at around 1am on Thursday.
The Adver has learnt that Di Canio removed pictures from the walls of his office which documented his success at the club.
While Di Canio formally confirmed his resignation on Monday, in a statement released to the Advertiser he revealed that it has not been officially accepted by the Swindon board.
He said: “The club have still not responded to my letter of resignation of 12th February.”
Di Canio’s representatives were not available for comment on Thursday night.
