HEAD TO HEAD: A brief history of Town's home clashes with Bury

BURY don’t make the trip to Swindon very well.

The Shakers have lost three-quarters of their matches at the County Ground over the years, haven’t won in 12 games spanning three-and-a-half decades and were the victims of Town’s crushing 8-0 victory in December 1979.

The three games the Gigg Lane outfit have managed to take all the points from in the history of this fixture came within a four-meeting burst in the 1960s and 1970s but otherwise it has been nothing but doom and gloom for Bury in Wiltshire.

In recent years Town have been equally dominant over the Shakers at home, winning the last three clashes between the sides.

The most recent match came in November 2006, when Christian Roberts’ strike and an own goal from John Fitzgerald.

Really fancy the win for the Town tonight. But we will still have to be on our guard tonight. No sloppy goals given away as in recent games.

Bury haven't won in 12.

Hmmm! dont be too complacent..... before this season Macclesfield hadn't won here at all.
