Any news on Wrighty I think he would be excellent as assistant and a real boost to players confidence as well as knowing pretty much everyone in football.

not the best appointment we could have made-but time will tell-clear board wanted a coach rather than a manager-ie-someone to coach the existing players we have rather than making more expensive failures

But a quick bit of research shows a man with managerial promise.
The guy was heavily linked with the black burn job. Has boat loads of coaching experience. He's probably also well connected in the game.
Hey, maybe he is cheap. But you'll all be on here moaning about season tickets prices tomorrow, so hey. Deal with it.

He's got years of experience working under some top managers, well respected, must have lots of tactical acumen having spent so long as a premier league coach, and will be a level-headed leader, which won't be a bad thing after all that's happened recently.
Couldn't really be a bigger contrast to King Paulo but I'm quite excited by his appointment - roll on Saturday!

Because some people haven't heard of him he will be branded as cheap, and the easy option.

Ironically,McMahon stopped him being a regular during Liverpool's reign of Champions!Hansen should be able to give him some defensive advice and no doubt Ferry will be pleased.Caddis to return(lol)-Is Malpas his No 2??
Och well!We shall see.Give him time.
So "Jimmy"F.H.would have been too much of another gamble for Swindon
after Di Canio's roller-coaster-miss the
histrionics though now Di Canio has really, really arrivederci Paolo!!Watch
out Sam there is a Di Canio about!

Will you Listen to yourselves. I have never heard such a bunch of negative moaners. Why anybody would want the job if they ever read the comments from the fans I cannot understand. I for one am looking forward to having a new manager who with a great team of players and some cracking support from the stadium will take us into the championship where we will be playing his former employers.

Unknown quantity as far as I am concerned but can only wish him well. The Villa links might be very useful for loan players/non premier league grade youngsters. Hope he pulls the lads back together quickly. Coventry will be a big match for him having been at Villa. Good luck Kevin. COYMR

BUT, they have gone and another new chapter begins with new board and new owners. I hope this will be a good appointment. I have spoken to a Villa pal since news broke earlier and he said, that in his first game in temporary charge he was trying to hide behind the perspex in the dugout, but grew in confidence as games passed and turned out to be quite vocal in the technical area (something that has been missing in last 2 games), he said that most Villa fans were sorry that he did not get the job.
I welcome this appointment and can look forward to the rest of the season.
Welcome KM, lets hope you start with 3 points at Coventry on Saturday. As always, I will be there to cheer the lads on.
