TROY Batchelor will not be wasting any energy worrying about whether or not his loan move from Peterborough to Swindon will be ratified by the BSPA.

The Australian’s move back to Blunsdon was announced by the Robins on March 2 following the passing of British speedway’s signing deadline, which automatically makes any rider not signed by a club by March 1 available on loan.

The BSPA have yet to rubber-stamp the move following a winter-long battle which saw the Panthers insist their asset should only move on a permanent deal, but the Robins remain confident the loan switch will be approved in the coming day.

Batchelor shares their confidence, and speaking at the Robins’ press and practice day yesterday the new Australian champion insisted he has no worries over his future.

“I’m just getting on with it, and Rosco and Gary and everyone else seem to think it’s going to be fine, and that is how I am going on,” he said.

“If something did happen there would be a lot of problems, but all I want to do is carry on racing and I won’t be worrying about it.

“It was a long winter and a lot of stuff went on which wasn’t ideal. I did a lot of racing and obviously that went well for me, but then all the way around the other side of the world all this drama was going on which was not needed.

“It could have been resolved a lot easier and a lot quicker, but people were stubborn and that’s how it went this year.

“Eventually the right thing happened and I’m ready to ride, and I just can’t wait to get started now and I am pumped to get going.”

The 2013 Robins were unable to practise as planned yesterday due to rain in Swindon, but did manage to show off their new purple race suits for the first time, much to the delight of Batchelor.

“The suits are pretty cool because they are something trendy and something different, and purple is great because it reflects the sponsor and gets people talking,” he said.

“I thought there might be a little bit of gold on there or something to show that we’re champions, but when we race Belle Vue and Peterborough it will be great because normally we look the same.

“They will be great for the riders as well to be honest because when you see a purple suit going around the outside of you or something you will know it’s your teammate.”
