SWINDON Town defender Darren Ward has put pen to paper on a new, two-year deal at the County Ground, the Robins have confirmed.
Ward, who will take a pay cut to remain in Wiltshire, turned down the approach of Brentford earlier this summer.
A statement released by the club this evening read: "Swindon Town are delighted to announce that skipper Darren Ward has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal at The County Ground putting an end to speculation over his future.
"Ward was brought to SN1 last summer initially on loan before signing a permanent contract in January and is closing in on a half-century of appearances for the Town.
"The 34 year-old’s new deal will see him stay in Wiltshire until the end of the 2014/15 season."
