SWINDON TOWN: De Vita desperate to line up against former club

Swindon Advertiser: Former Town man Raffa De Vita Former Town man Raffa De Vita

RAFFA De Vita is desperate to recover from injury in time to enjoy a reunion with former club Swindon Town on Sunday.

The Italian winger left the County Ground in the summer and eventually signed for Bradford as a free agent, but has made the majority of his 18 appearances for the Bantams off the bench.

De Vita has been struggling with a quad strain which has kept him out of the last two games but is hopeful of recovering in time for a game against his old team.

“I’m happy to be at Bradford because it’s a massive club with some amazing fans, although I’ve not managed to cement my place in the team yet and I’ve mainly been coming off the bench,” De Vita told the Advertiser.

“I’ve had a little run in the team but I’ve been out with an injury for a couple of weeks to it would be great to be back to play Swindon.

“I’ve missed the last two games so I will have to see how it is because every day I’ve been running slightly further every day.

“There’s not many of my old teammates left now and when I look at the Swindon results there aren’t too many names left who I used to play with, but it’s always nice to see how a few familiar faces are doing and to hopefully play against them too.”

De Vita has also warned his former club of the dangers posed by deadly strike duo Nahki Wells and James Hanson.

“Nahki is the obvious one to look at because he’s a brilliant player and every day you see something from him and you can tell he’s special,” he said.

“He’s scored 16 goals and has missed a month too which makes it even better and I’m sure the big teams will be looking at him in January.

“His partner up front, James Hanson, is a big part of what Nahki’s doing and he’s so big and strong while Nahki is small and quick.

“James has been out for a bit but we really hope he will be back because he offers a lot.”

RDV a good player and a decent bloke. Did everything we ever asked of him, and add to that the "now and again amazing goal". Was sorry to see him go and would always give him a whole heated welcome should he ever return here.
