SWINDON Ladies left it late to secure a battling 1-0 win over Team Bath Buccaneers 2nds in Premier Division 2A.
Second-half pressure paid off and, with five minutes left, Sue Roberts turned in the rebound from Gael Little’s shot from a short corner.
Bath dominated the early play and Swindon relied on keeper Alison Greetham to keep the scores level.
Greetham pulled off a number of stunning saves and fully deserved her selection as player of the match.
After the break, Swindon came out rejuvenated, creating an immediate impact as Chloe Lewis and Vicky Stokes forced the Bath keeper into several saves.
As the game grew close, with both teams creating opportunities, Swindon’s defence stood firm and they began to take control before grabbing their late winner.
Swindon travel to high-flying Bretforton for their next league game.
