N'Guessan listed for loan

Swindon Advertiser: Dany N'Guessan Dany N'Guessan

SWINDON Town striker Dany N’Guessan has been made available for a loan transfer away from the County Ground.

The Advertiser understands the Robins have notified Football League clubs that N’Guessan, who only arrived in Wiltshire on an initial one-year contract following his release by Millwall in the summer, is free to move on a temporary basis during the current transfer window.

Swindon have recruited Michael Smith and George Barker so far in January, meaning an increased competition for places in the striking department for the Robins.

Interested clubs now have until transfer deadline day next Friday, January 31 to make their move for the ex-Leicester hitman, while the next emergency loan window opens on February 8.

N’Guessan made an impressive start to life in Swindon, scoring eight times in his first 18 appearances for the club.

However, his last goal came in the 3-1 victory over Carlisle United on November 30 and the frontman has since been plagued by injury and illness.

He has featured just five times for the Robins in December and January.

In total N’Guessan has played 23 times for the Robins, scoring eight goals.

Gutted with how things have gone for him as I honestly thought he would be banging the goals in this season as when he has been fully fit he has looked a quality player.

Didn't see this one coming and are surprised as he seems a decent senior pro in our young team. Admittedly he hasn't been pulling up trees lately but he has been playing out wide.

Did we sign him as forward or a winger. My view is I would keep until the end of the season, barker and smith are unproven, Storey is young and Ranger is day by day so he may yet have a role to play, especially with our injury record this year.

me neither, as Lydiard said didn't see that one coming. maybe the player himself wants to leave,

pity the announcement has not given the reason why we want him off the books other than he hasn't scored for a while, which could be attributed to the fact he hasn't started too many games and when he has featured it's usually been out wide.

i just dont understand this at all. it can only be to get the wage budget down after the two permanent signings. leaving my view about cooper to one side like many i see our problems lie with the defence like i said i think this has to do with the wage budget we probably need to get rid before we can maybe recruit a defender. i would just like to appolgise to jayden for my remarks yesterday about him i am of course fully aware as jock said about him being one of the better fans, it just annoys me when posters need the smallest excuse to have a go at some of our players.

I don't think you become a bad defender over night.
He was a key part of the best defence in the division last year.

We still have 80 percent of the same defence as last year (Wes included) I think as a team we are more fluid and open compared to PDC's setup which means Darren and the rest of the defence are far more exposed under Coops.
Darren's had his 2 best performances of the season against Posh & Coventry recently and with TAH nearing a return I think our defence will be a lot more robust and solid.

I'd have to agree with you with regards to Hall mind, I'm not a massive fan and have been disappointed with his contribution considering the reputation he came with.

i can only think this is to reduce the wages as we have brought two in. I feel a bit sorry for the bloke as he has had stop start introductions into games and never really had a few starts on the trot and as a player that is always difficult. We will be losing a seasoned experienced player as well and leaves us with a very young strike force up front and unproven.
Ajose has gone and has scored 4 goals in three games now N'Guessan going and he had scored a few as well so it put alot of pressure on these young lads up front.
To me we still need a bit of experience in the squad and if Ranger ends up sewing mail bags next month it will be real high pressure for our forwards.
There's a week to go until the end of the window i still think there will be other movement with a couple of players and most notably Pritchard as reported in Huddersfield yesterday and i think one other.

Yet like many posters totally agree defence is the problem, just maybe Ward should have gone to Brentford, still heres hoping he will improve.
Now to tackle all the sick notes who are on mega wages.
It must really be a drain on the clubs budget.
Good luck to the new lad he looks big enough about time we had a few tall players.
Any news on TAH or is he going out on loan again to avoid paying Extra money to Exeter????????

Yes it seems strange but all in all it may be a good move. It is only a loan an with there being no reserve league the only way to get him back the full match fitness is to ship him out in loan. Lets hope he comes back sharp again, after all, he could prove to be a major assett in the final months of the season.

A surprising one but presume this is down to wages and with Ranger staying N'Guessan has to go plus I guess Cooper wants to get Barker in the side.

Overall though we are 2 out 2 in - El Gabbas and Ajose out, Barker and Smith in, so if Danny does go and maybe Pritchard too we will need to replace.

I like the sound of Smith and of the 3 target men being considered Thomas, Ngoo and Smith I'm pleased we got him - he has been playing regularly unlike the others, has a good scoring record, and could have a good resale value if he does well. Thomas was older and would have only been here for the money, Ngoo only on loan I think so only a short term signing.

Really need the 3 points tomorrow.

You don't know how much effort is being made to sort out the defence. There could be many targets and it just happens that forwards are being acquired first.

Actually, I use sarcasm quite a lot and I think, if it is used in a joking way, it can be quite amusing. I would like to point out though, without being sarcastic, the poor use of the English language. ....".hopefully your be going out on loan soon" should be "you will" or "you'll" not "your". Many posters on here use the word your when it should be you're. Another often mis used word is "are" when it should be "our".

Good point made Jason, the reason may well be to get him some game time to sharpen him up, if that is the case still think Cooper should have clarified that he hopes to get him back to fully fit and not have things to speculation.

Our defence does not leak more goals than we score, in fact the last time I looked our goal difference was + 7. Also there are 12 other teams in this league that have conceded more than us.

I do agree with you too many points have been dropped through sloppy mistakes at the back of which Ward and Hall are probably the worst culprits, but it's not just down to the centre backs. Remember Nat going to sleep against the Orient, Jay's own goal, even Wes has been at fault.

Win as a team lose as a team, all of them should share the responsibility and we shouldn't pick out scapegoats to blame because there will always be mistakes made, that's why we are not Barcelona. I can see the sense in trying to improve our appalling lack of scoring away from home (14 from 14 games) and 6 of them were scored in our only two wins, it is just not good enough and why we have picked up the least number of points on the road along with Brizzie and Sheffield, IMO trying to improve up front is perfectly understandable. If we are to bring in one more player I would be looking for a strong midfielder that doesn't take prisoners, such a player would take a lot of pressure off a back 4 that get let down by the present midfielders that know how to attack, but do not do enough to help out the defence.

on the other hand, if we have come to the conclusion our defence isn't up to it, perhaps the new tactics will be to score more goals.

I personally think this is to free some wages.
Maybe now that Troy is back in the frame we need to free up some wages as he was previously out on loan and maybe they were looking to send him out again but have now changed their minds.

or perhaps Cooper/Power realise they need a CB and to bring one in loan they need to ship one out on loan and Dany fits the bill. Having fresh options now.

Miles being younger has time to improve, but still needs to.

Sums up the Scottish league and how bad it is Rooney going to a premier league team says it all. Cant get in the first 11 at Oldham, goes on a free transfer thats how highly Oldham rated him and now in the Premier league which i always remember Simon Ferry saying it was the same standard as L1.
And no wonder Rooney wanted to stay with us for the ridiculous Money he has offered because no idiot would offer him what we did and maybe that is something in our favour for the legal case.
He useless and no one wants him apart from a team in a second rate league.

Totally agree quite a lazy player as Millwall fans stated when we signed him and he was that lazy he came on as a sub once and got taken off after 10 mins at Millwall. Did ok at first here but lost his way since and does not seem interested enough during games. I agree with others that I feel it is his wages Town want to free up and possibly with Hall injured its Troy they are looking at getting back in.
