SUPERMARINE coach Sean Millwaters said that his side will have to be very wary when they face Devizes II this Saturday.

Tomorrow is Marine’s last game in hand on the teams above them. A bonus-points win would see them go top on points scored from Bradford on Avon. Failure to get five points would mean they were relying on results elsewhere to go their way.

Devizes II are one of just three teams to beat Marine in the league this season, gaining a narrow 7-6 win at London Road last September.

Millwaters said after his side’s win at Calne last Saturday that the remainder of Marine’s season is like a cup run, with tomorrow the semi-final and, win-dependent, their final trip to Trowbridge the final.

However, Millwaters knows that the league is not begging to conquered and his side will have to take it for themselves if they want to win.

“We’ve got to be very wary and absolutely on our game this weekend. On the day we have to play our best rugby to win the game,” he said.

In the reverse fixture last year Devizes took their one chance to pip Supermarine by a single point, Millwaters doesn’t think that his side hit their straps in that game.

“They’ll get our due respect because they’re one of only three team we’ve lost to in the league this season.

“On the day we have to play our best rugby to win the game. We don’t think we turned up at their place, they defended well and took their chance it well.

“We know we have to win, if we want to the win the league then we have to win this game.”
