Hans expects a tough night for Coventry

Swindon Advertiser: Former Robins' skipper Hans Anderson Former Robins' skipper Hans Anderson

FORMER Swindon skipper Hans Andersen isn’t expecting his Coventry side to have things all their own way when he takes on his old club this evening.

The 2012 Elite League-winning skipper believes the Bees now have a stronger side than the one which beat the Robins 36-26 earlier in the season, but despite the signing of Michael Jepsen Jensen he is convinced Swindon will still prove a tough opponent.

“It’s going to be a very hard meeting for us because we’re going to be missing (Jason) Garrity at reserve because he’s riding in the Premier League and Jason’s being doing a very good job for us,” he said.

“We’ve strengthened our side since our last trip to the Abbey but Swindon always seem to go good at home so it’s never easy. We’re definitely going there for the win.

“Bringing in Jepsen Jensen has proved a good decision but we need to secure a play-off spot before we can think about winning the league.

“It’s a track I know really well, although I didn’t do really well there last time because I got injured.

“That was a long time ago and it would be nice now to go back there and win another meeting.”

The Bees go into the match without Kyle Howarth, who remains on the sidelines with an ankle injury, although he had initially hoped to be making his comeback in this meeting.

Edinburgh’s Max Fricke, who has already made impressive guest appearances for Coventry at Leicester and Lakeside, comes in as a guest.

Charles Wright is in for Garrity who is riding for Rye House at Ipswich.

Meanwhile James Sarjeant returns from injury for the Bees after scoring double-figures for Leicester in a National Trophy match at Stoke last weekend.
