TOWN skipper Nathan Thompson believes tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Newport presents a chance for some his less established teammates to make a name for themselves.
He would no better than most. Thompson made his debut as a youngster in the same competition way back in 2010, before going on to now become club captain.
He said: “My first opportunity came in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy against Torquay a few years back now.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for me and I know the boys, if they’re given an opportunity, will try to grab it with both hands.
“It’s a fantastic for those who haven’t had an opportunity in the starting XI so far this season.
“We are targetting the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy without a shadow of a doubt. The boys are raring to go. I think the most important thing is continuing the momentum that we’re taking into the game.”
