SWINDON Wildcats boss Ryan Aldridge is on guard for a sting in the tail when his troops host Bracknell Bees on Saturday.

Cats showed their teeth when the two teams met at the start of the month, handing out an emphatic 10-1 thrashing at the Link Centre.

They will be heavy favourites to follow that up with another victory against a Bracknell side who sit rock bottom of the English Premier table.

However, Aldridge is well aware that the Cats cannot afford to take anything for granted as they bid to strengthen their position in the play-offs this weekend.

“We won’t get carried away with ourselves,” said Aldridge.

“We would obviously love another result like that, but we know it’s going to be a difficult game.

“They’re a good team who work hard for 60 minutes.

“They never give up, even at 10-1 they didn’t give up, and we’ll expect exactly the same from them this weekend.

“The players should have confidence after a result like that but we have to make sure it’s not too much confidence.

“We will talk about that before the game but I’m sure all the lads know they can’t afford to take them lightly.

“It doesn’t matter where you are in the table, there are no easy games in this league. Saturday will be no different.

“They are our local rivals and they always want to beat us. They’d love nothing more than to come to our building and pick up two points.”

With the Bracknell clash being the Cats’ only fixture this weekend, Aldridge says his team have no excuses for a below-par performance.

And the Cats boss is also keen to make the most of a rare outing at the Link Centre. Both Swindon’s previous two fixtures were away from home and it is the same story next weekend too.

He said: “We’ve only got one game this weekend so we will leave everything out there and we’ll be giving 100 per cent.

“We want to give something to our supporters as one home game in three weeks is not ideal, so we’ll be trying to give them something to shout about.”

D-man Shane Moore is in line to return for the Cats this weekend after missing last Sunday’s 5-2 win at Peterborough Phantoms with injury.

“Shane has been to the doctor and it’s actually a different problem to what we first thought but they seem to think he will be fit for this weekend,” said Aldridge.

“I’m not exactly too sure what it is, I think it’s a hernia, but they think it will be sorted out with some medication.

“Our defence was what won us the game against Peterborough but having him back in there as well will certainly be good for us.”
