PREDICTIONS LEAGUE:  Swindon v Notts County

MARCH has not started too well for the Town with a performance against Gillingham midweek being one to forget.

Swindon seem to have lost their MOJO. They need to get the Spring back into their game. They are playing well, keeping the ball, but just can’t find the back of the net. That, and the fact that the defence are gifting the opposition goals with alarming regularity, has put us in a downward slide.

Some have said that we are over achieving this season. They would have snapped your hand off if they had been told at the start of the season that we would be in fourth place, just two points outside the chance of automatic promotion.

With MK Dons playing Preston this weekend this is the possibility that, with that result being a draw, Swindon could find themselves back in second place. Providing that we can beat Notts County with a margin of two or more goals.

We are still well and truly in the mix for a potential two finish, but let’s not hope for failure of other teams around us. Let’s go out there and win our games. If others slip up then so be it. Twelve games to go and I still think we need another 18 points for that second spot. The fact that we still have to play the three teams above us adds just adds a bit more spice to the mix.

I know it has been very frustrating of late to watch the Town, but more than ever they need the support and encouragement from the stands. Yet the lads on the pitch have to do their part. It’s not the losing that hurts, well maybe it is, but the complete capitulation that we saw last Tuesday.

Onwards and upwards.
