LOUIS Thompson is benefitting from the care of two clubs as they look to get him back on the pitch before the end of the season.

Thompson injured his shoulder after landing awkwardly from an aerial challenge against Crewe last weekend.

There was initially a fear the midfielder could have played his last game for Swindon. Manager Mark Cooper concerned the injury may force him out for two months, with Thompson due to link up with Norwich at the end of the season.

An X-ray after the game last Saturday revealed no break, but a further soft-tissue scan was inconclusive on the damage, so Thompson travelled to Norwich for his assessment at his parent club.

Canaries boss Alex Neil confirmed Thompson had been back to Norwich’s Colney Training Centre and wants to make sure the 19-year-old will be back on the pitch before the beginning of May.

“Louis Thompson has hurt his shoulder,” said Neil. “The two clubs are making sure between us we can provide the best possible treatment to make sure we can get him back involved for them between now and the end of the season.

“I think he came up for some sort of treatment and a scan but he will flit between the two in terms of his recuperation.”
