JOHNNY Haines reached the third round of the Players Championship Two in Barnsley on Sunday.

The Punk edged past Dave Chisnall 6-5 in the opening, before defeating Curtis Hammond 6-2, however, he found Paul Nicholson too strong as he lost 6-1.

Following his 6-0 thrashing of Andy Parsons, Mark Cox suffered the same fate at the hands of Jelle Klaasen, while Dennis Smith endured his second first round defeat of weekend, losing 6-3 to John Bowles.

Smith, Cox and Haines lost to Adam Hunt, James Wade and Jeffrey De Zwaan respectively in the first round of the opening Players Championship event of the season 24 hours earlier.
