A ROCKING County Ground could prove to be the difference, says Jack Stephens as Swindon Town prepare for the biggest four days in their season so far.

With the arrival of MK Dons to the County Ground on Saturday, the Southampton loanee believes the fans could aid the side in getting a key result in the promotion push.

The Robins are aiming for their first appearance in the second tier of English football for the first time since the turn of the century and the next four days could give a clearer idea of the promotion picture, with Town set to face two of the top four.

Both games are being shown live on Sky, with the Bristol City away match now sold-out, but Stephens has said the players will not be distracted by the cameras and are fully focused on the task in hand.

“It’s definitely great to have a loud stadium behind you, I can’t wait for the game personally,” said Stephens.

“It would be great for the fans to really get behind us for that one, like they have done for the past few weeks.

“If they get behind us it helps us get a positive result.

“With the cameras on us it’s all about focusing on our football.

“It’s a big game on paper, but we seem to do well against the big sides. It’s important that we focus on the game itself.”

Stephens spent the last week with an England Under 20 squad also featuring promotion contenders Lewis Baker of MK Dons and Callum Robinson of Preston, but they put aside their club sides’ rivalries.

“There’s not been too much banter about it,” added the defender.

“We all got on well. With the other lad from Preston there’s been a bit, but it’s all light hearted.

“When we go back we’ll all be focused on doing the best for our clubs.”
