GREYHOUND are into their second cup final of the season after a 2-1 extra-time victory against FC Walcot in the Knockout Cup last weekend.

Greyhound are fighting for silverware on three fronts, having reached the final of the Wiltshire Sunday Cup, where they face Walcot again, whilst they also currently sit at the top of Division One.

Walcot may not have to wait too long to get revenge for Sunday's semi-final defeat when the two teams meet again, this time in a top-of-the-table league clash, next weekend.

Glenn Armstrong put Greyhound in front but Walcot managed a late equaliser to send the game into an extra 30 minutes.

Greyhound were reduced to 10 men in the first period of extra-time but a late Danny Cole strike nestled into the top corner to break Walcot hearts.

Greyhound manager Dave Hawkins said: “It’s always tight against them and it was touch and go. We played most of extra-time with 10 men. To win it then after that showed some good character.

“It does give you – if you can beat your closest rivals – a bit of confidence. It’s another massive game for us next week. If we win, we have one hand on the title, if they win, they are right back in it.

“That’s the one we really play for. The league is the one we want to win. They have nothing to lose. They have to win it – a draw won’t help them a great deal.

“We have not won anything yet. We could lose the two cup finals and get pipped in the league. We just take each game as it comes and at the end of it, we will see where we are.”

Greyhound will face AFC Gas in the Knockout Cup final after they secured a narrow 1-0 victory in their semi-final against third division leaders DPR.

There was just the single Division One league game on Sunday, which saw SKS Blyskawica defeat bottom club KC Globe 3-0.

Relegation-threatened Globe have managed just a single victory so far this season but do have two games in hand on nearest rivals Gas.

In Division Two, West Swindon Wanderers got back to winning ways after their shock 5-0 defeat to Fairford Sunday last week with a 1-0 victory over Rodbourne Real.

Title-chasing Wanderers extended their lead at the top of the table to four points after Shrivenham Sunday slipped up against fellow promotion-chasers G Power Solutions.

A 2-0 win for G Power puts them one point behind second-placed Shrivenham Sunday but they have played a game more.

Windmill drew 3-3 with AFC Moonrakers while Wanborough were beaten 3-2 by Fairford.

In Division Three, Moovahoome and Stratton Saints drew 4-4 whilst in Division Four, there were defeats for title-chasers Fox & Hounds Freshbrook and Cricklade MTA, who were beaten by Croft Junior and Nationwide respectively.
