LUKE Williams may be without a few key men for this weekend with Jonathan Obika, Yaser Kasim and Michael Doughty facing a race against time to be fit for the home clash with Fleetwood Town.

Speaking ahead of the game, Williams revealed the trio as well as James Brophy all have question marks over their fitness.

Obika may have to sit out at the weekend after the striker picked up a neck injury in training earlier in the week.

“He (Obika) headed a ball in training and did something to his neck. I’m not sure he may have trapped a nerve and we are struggling to loosen it up,” said Williams

“It just seems to gone into spasm and you’d expect that thing to wear off quickly but it seems to be hanging about a bit longer than we would like so we will have to see what happens with that.”

The striker was also spotted on crutches on Monday afternoon, but Williams swiftly dismissed the 26-year-old striker is carrying a more serious problem.

“I don’t know about that, maybe he thinks it is fun to wind us all up, I don’t know, but I saw him walking down the corridor this morning and everything was fine,” added Williams.

Kasim, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury for other a month, last featured for Swindon in their 3-1 defeat to Eastleigh in the FA Cup.

Williams believes it is only a matter of time until the Iraq international is back in the first team picture, with the Town head coach is hopeful ahead of the weekend.

However, Williams is not as positive with regards to Brophy as the defender continues to struggle with breathing problems.

“Yes, he (Kasim) is he is getting closer all the time, he is training fully, he shouldn’t be too long. There is a chance,” added Williams.

“Brophy is getting closer, still a bit of a way off.”

There is also uncertainty over Queens Park Rangers loanee, Doughty who was subbed off at half time during Swindon’s 4-0 defeat to Sheffield United.

“He got some sort of gastric problem in his throat. In the build up to the Sheffield it was stopping him from eating properly, he was struggling to sleep and he had no energy and I think that showed," he said.

“ It was a very out of character performance in the first half (against Sheffield), but he has been training and feeling more like himself and training fully, hopefully he has got a good chance to be back on song.”
