AFTER adding two more friendlies to their pre-season schedule, Swindon Supermarine boss Lee Spalding says his team can’t wait to get going.

Swindon Town will now visit the Webbswood Stadium on Friday, July 27, while the Southern League side will also play host to Hashtag United on Saturday, July 7.

Spalding, who is preparing his troops for his first full season in charge after taking the reins in the second half of the 2017-18 campaign, believes there are plenty of tests for his troops ahead.

“The club are delighted to have the Swindon Town and Hashtag United games,” he said.

“The Swindon Town game is a game that Supermarine look forward to every pre-season, and it is a great opportunity for our players to test themselves against Football League opposition.

“I am sure the game will get lots of support from the area and the Swindon Town fans and Marine fans will come to the Webbswood to support both teams in what will be another exciting pre-season game.”

At the other end of the spectrum, Marine will also take on a Hashtag side embarking on their first season on the football ladder.

Despite being just two years old, the club have a huge following online as they post their matches on their YouTube channel.

“The Hashtag United game is another exciting pre-season friendly for Supermarine. There was a lot of work behind the scenes from certain people at the club to secure the friendly,” said Spalding.

“Hashtag post their games on YouTube. They have a massive following on Twitter and Instagram, so the coverage of the game will be massive for both teams.

“They have recently joined the non-league pyramid and play in the Eastern Counties League Division One South.

"Everyone around Supermarine is buzzing and looking forward to host both Swindon Town and Hashtag United in pre-season.”

Marine are also due to play League Two side Forest Green Rovers, as well as Wealdstone, Royal Wootton Bassett Town, Fairford Town, Bradford Town, Banbury Town and Cirencester Town as part of their preparations to start life in the Southern League Premier Division.
