Swindon Town will be waiting on the fitness of Sean McGurk ahead of their League Two clash with Accrington Stanley on Tuesday evening.

The 20-year-old who joined from Leeds United on the final day of the January transfer window has impressed during his first experience of senior football, netting on his first start against Gillingham and then notching a goal and an assist against Tranmere Rovers.

McGurk was an unused substitute against Mansfield after he had walked off during the warm-ups at the One Call Stadium having felt a tight hamstring upon arrival in Nottinghamshire.

Although the injury is not thought to be serious, he will be a doubt to feature as Accrington visit the County Ground in League Two.

Gunning said: “Everyone has recovered fine and is ok, it is just McGurk.

“He had a tight hamstring, so we didn’t bring him on in that game [against Mansfield], it came after he got off the bus and he felt it being a bit tight and we didn’t want to risk him. Everyone else seems to be ok.”

Swindon will once again be without Harry McKirdy against Stanley as he is still recovering from the illness that kept him out against Mansfield.
