Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann has said that his side have to be wary of Swindon Town’s attacking options as they visit the County Ground.

Town will be up against it this weekend, facing a Rovers side that have picked up the third most points in the league over their last five games, although they have struggled on the road with just one win in their last ten away matches.

Speaking to club and local media previewing the game, McCann said that his side would have to be careful with some of the attacking talent that Swindon possess.

He said: “The game [Swindon v Mansfield Town] was like a basketball game, it could have been seven-all or eight-all watching that game back.

“They have got [Aaron] Drinan, they have got Charlie Austin, they have got [Rushian] Hepburn-Murphy, they have got [Paul] Glatzel.

“They have got some really good attacking players in the team and midfielders who can handle the ball, [George] McEachran and [Dawson] Devoy.

“It is a tough game, like any team in this division if you are not at it then you can get hurt, so we just have to make sure that we are ready.”

Having had a very difficult start to the season, Doncaster have now begun to pick up momentum to move clear of the relegation zone and McCann has challenged his players to finish the campaign top of the form table.

He said: “We always trusted that we had the players here and if we could recruit well from the start of the season and in January then we would have a chance to be in and around that top seven.

“What you don’t know that will happen is the injuries that we have had, the disruption that we have had and that element of it.

“A few weeks ago, I said let’s finish the season strong, we have ten games left and let’s see how many we can win, that was the message to the players.

“When we sat down it was 18 games and we sat down and said let’s finish at the top of that 18-game table and we are in the top seven of that and if we win some games in hand we could go back to the top of it.

“And this is another game for us where we feel we can put a plan together and try and get a good result.”
