TWO more triallists have begun their bid to impress Swindon manager Danny Wilson and earn full-time contracts at the County Ground.

Former Bath City and Chippenham Town midfielder Yan Klukowski has joined Hungerford Town hit man Bradley Clark in training with Town’s first team squad this week, and the pair are likely to play some part in their friendly against Supermarine next Wednesday.

Klukowski, aged 21, had an unsuccessful trial at Town’s League One rivals Carlisle United earlier this month, and the midfielder has recently completed a footballing scholarship in the United States.

Clark, who is the nephew of Hungerford boss Alan, is believed to have been in Town’s youth set-up around five years ago, but has since been playing his football in Europe due to working abroad.

And he was rewarded for an impressive display against Danny Wilson’s side on Monday night, despite Swindon beating Hungerford 3-0.

“We’ve got a young lad on trial called Yan Klukowski and also a boy from Hungerford who played very well against us the other night,” Wilson told the Advertiser.

“(Clark) was up front against us and I was quite impressed with him. He did very well.

“It just goes to show if you put yourself about against professional players then you just never know. Nothing is set in stone about the boy but he did well.

“He caused Jerel Ifil and Sean Morrison a lot of problems, and there’s not many players can do that on a consistent basis over 90 minutes. He did that and was a major threat.”

Wilson has decided against offering deals to trialists Stephen Morrison and Anton Ademole, however.

The midfielders played twice for Swindon in warm-up games, but the manager believes they would not be good enough to press for a first team spot this season.

“We’ve had a good look at them but I don’t think we’ll be taking them on,” said Wilson.

“What we’ve done is raise the bar, and the players coming in have to come up to standard. It’s nothing against them if they don’t, but we have raised the bar.

“It’s important to ask if they will be pushing for the first team. We don’t want them to just be filling positions in the reserves because that’s not healthy for anybody. So we’re having to say no to a few of them and I’m sure we’ll say no to more as we go along, before we get the right ones.”
