THE North Wilts League Under 13 representative team made a losing start to their season against Swindon Town.

Swindon emerged 4-1 victors against a side that blooded five debutants at the Corinium Stadium, Cirencester.

North Wilts took an early lead after great attacking play by Gianluca Michienzi and Max Kitchin.

But Swindon levelled with a fine strike before bringing out an entirely different side in the second half.

North Wilts performed well but the Swindon boys put away three further goals to seal the result.

A hastily assembled North Wilts Under 10 representative team lost 5-1 to Swindon Town Under 10s at the same venue.

The North Wilts team, who had not previously played together, matched their visitors in the early exchanges but then conceded the first goal.

A spirited comeback resulted in a well-deserved equaliser, scored by Oliver Rejek of Cirencester Town.

But Swindon’s quick passing and movement enabled them to score twice more before half time to make it 3-1.

Swindon were too good for the tiring North Wilts team in the second half and added two more goals to run out 5-1 winners.

The North Wilts Under Nines representative side put on a battling performance against slick Swindon Town.

Although under pressure for long periods in the match, the defence and midfield worked tirelessly to keep Swindon at bay.

Goalkeeper Joe Smith made several outstanding saves, while Toby Kutassy and Brandon McGinn both made last-ditch challenges to prevent goals.

After Swindon scored three in the first half, the game ended 4-1 with Ryan Harris scoring North Wilts’ goal, after breaking quickly from defence before slotting past the Swindon keeper.
