CRAIG Hogg’s return to the Wroughton frontline proved crucial as he bagged a brace in the 3-1 victory at Bradford Town.

Hogg, who played in goal in the 1-0 defeat to Pewsey Vale the previous weekend, was restored to his favoured position and his goals helped Wroughton gain three points on their better-placed Wiltshire League Premier Division rivals.

Wroughton boss Kev Cook said of Hogg: “He is our top scorer and he was pleased to be back up there. When he doesn’t play up top we do miss him.

“We’ve done the double over Bradford now and the football we played was as good as we’ve played all season. It’s nice to go away and get three points as they have taken points off a lot of the top teams.”

Hogg scored the first goal early on before Andy Brian missed a penalty to make it 2-0. Bradford equalised before Hogg got his second soon after the break, and then a home player was sent off for headbutting him.

Tom Goodey made it 3-1 and the visitors were comfortable as they cantered to victory in the latter part of the game.
