MARK Allen felt “justice” had been done after his Intel side battled back to a 2-2 draw against visiting Greenmeadow, writes NED PAYNE.

In the previous meeting between the Wiltshire League Division One outfits, Greenmeadow scored the opening goal through a fortuitous cross-shot, and went on to win 3-2.

And in the first half of this latest encounter, the same player smacked a similar cross-shot against the woodwork.

After Greenmeadow went into the break 1-0 up, both sides scored a goal each after the interval, before Intel got their lucky revenge.

Simon Foster, who had already scored Intel’s first, saw his mis-directed centre from the left fly into the top corner to level the match at two goals apiece.

“It was a bit of a fluky goal but it felt like we got a bit of justice back,” said Allen.

“The wind was awful but credit goes to both sides because it was actually a really good game of football.”

Elsewhere in the division, Swindon NALGO went top after winning 6-5 at home to Chalke Valley in an unbelievable game.

Matthew Bissett (2), Dan Hall (2), Leon Byfield, Graham Prictor were the NALGO’s goal scorers in a thrilling contest.

NALGO may not hold onto their lofty perch for too long as they are not in league action this weekend, instead taking on KMLC in the first round of the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

Second-placed SKS Blyskawica could go top if they beat visiting Malmesbury Victoria, while AFC NPower also have the chance to move first if they beat Pewsey Vale Reserves.

Elsewhere, Greenmeadow host Byrons Wanderers and AFC Abbey Rodbourne travel to Minety.

In Division Two, Moredon Cheney reached the summit after hammering Marlborough Town Reserves 7-2 last weekend.

Ricky Hewitson bagged a hat-trick, Mark Smith added a brace and Jamie Ashby and Ryan Sealy scored the other goals.

Goals from Charlie Tippins (2) and Dan Goodwin could not prevent a 4-3 defeat for Ramsbury at Blunsdon United. Pembroke lost 1-0 against FC Chippenham Youth Reserves.

This weekend Lower Stratton visit Marlborough Town Reserves and Wilton Town welcome Wroughton Reserves.

Chiseldon play Ramsbury and FC Chippenham Youth Reserves take on Blunsdon United.

There was no Premier Division action involving local teams at the weekend but this Saturday will see New College clash with Purton.

KC’s make the trip south to Warminster, Wroughton welcome Chippenham Youth and Marlborough Town journey to Corsham Town.

In the second round of the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup, Intel are up against Moredon Cheney, while Pembroke are pitted against Swindon Irons.
