IT’S a great achievement for Town youngster Alex Henshall to be nominated for the BBC West Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

I’m sure he and the club are both very proud of that. Just to get nominated is an honour and he’s definitely justified being in that category.

I think he’s coped very well with the hype so far in his footballing life.

He goes away for the big games with England but when he’s finished he’s desperate to come back train with the squad.

He’s got the hunger and desire to play, train and apply himself in the right way.

If he ever needs any help he knows we are there, I think it’s important he understands that.

We have seen people achieve accolades before at a young age who have not go on to fulfil their potential.

It’s important that he stays focused, learns and implements what the coaches tell him.

I’m sure he will do that. At the moment we have got absolutely no problem whatsoever with him.

He got about another 20 minutes for England Under 16s the other night which is another cap for him, which he can look back on and enjoy in the future.

I didn’t go up to see the game but I watched it later and I thought he did alright.

Alex played for us against a South Wales 1995 side in Cardiff on Tuesday, and three or four of their side had played in the Victory Shield.

It was a mixture of our under 15 and under 16s and we played really well to win the game 5-1.

We entertain Yeovil at the weekend from 9-16 level.

The Under 18s are due to play Plymouth at the training ground tomorrow at 11.30am.
