The first round of the Knockout Cup Competition in the Indoor Cricket League rarely produces surprises, with the higher division teams usually holding sway.

However, this season has been different, as Minety South West and United Churches all recorded splendid victories.

Minety dismissed KC Club for just 75 and were not hard pressed to knock them off for the loss of only two wickets, whilst South West squeezed home in the final over by one wicket against Swindon 2nds, thanks largely to Tom Davis with 45 not out.

Ravi Samant scored a memorable 66 not out as Wootton Bassett 2nds ran up a formidable 131-5 against Churches, but even this was not enough as Churches sailed home with three balls spare, with Duncan Mead 53 not out.

In the League Asians continue to top Division One having beaten Wanborough by 32 runs, whilst Nalgo 1st posted their first victory by 40 runs against Shrivenham 1sts.

Special mention of James Hill of Shrivenham 3rds who returned the best bowling analysis of the season thus far when he returned 4-20, as ruthless Shrivenham beat Cirencester by 53 runs in Division Three.
