BYRONS Wanderers finally secured a victory over rivals Greenmeadow at the fourth attempt with their 4-2 win on Saturday in the Wiltshire League Division One.

Johann Sutton grabbed two, with Adam Bell and James Montague also on target for Lawrence Kerrigan’s side, and the boss was delighted with the performance of his troops.

“We played some lovely football and could have scored more,” Kerrigan admitted.

“The boys were superb, but we missed some great chances and hit the post twice so it could have been even better.

“This was the fourth time we have played Greenmeadow over the last two seasons and they had beaten us in every match before this, so it was sweet to get our revenge.

“We are just starting to get it together now and I’m really pleased. At the start of the season we were creating chances but not scoring goals, but now we have a group of lads who are good players and committed and we are getting our rewards.”
