NORTH WILTS & DISTRICT YOUTH & MINOR LEAGUE: After a busy week that has seen most sides play two midweek fixtures, Stratton Juniors are in touching distance of the under 16 title needing one point from their final game against Juventus.

On Tuesday Stratton had defeated Ferndale Rodbourne 3-1 on their own patch courtesy of goals from Steve Grey, Dave Glover and Matt Cosnett.

On Thursday Stratton Juniors finally lost a match after 28 unbeaten league games as Wroughton A kept the title race going to the final game of the season with a 3-1 home win.

Two goals from Rob Dean plus one from the prolific Adam Leighfield doing the damage.

Stratton Juniors B were crowned champions when they won by a solitary goal at nearest rivals AFC Barbury Saxon Sheppard with the all important goal.

On Sunday Barbury became runners-up without kicking a ball when Highworth Juniors lost 2-1 at home against Westlea Wanderers.

Bemerton secured the point they needed to be champions on Sunday.

Sam Aldridge put them ahead on nine minutes and they extended their lead on 48 minutes through Steven Holvey.

Needing a point to achieve runners-up Lydiard scored in the last minute and then conjured up an injury time equaliser to ensure both sides ended the day with medals, Chris Spink and Liam Townsend with the Lydiard goals.

Purton made sure of the title in emphatic style with an 11-2 home win over Stratton Youth, Dean Hobbis hit four, Josh Harper helped himself to a hat-trick, Alex Green two and there was one apiece for Sam Berwick and Adam Bedwell.

  • Under 13 Division 1

Shaw kept their title challenge on track on Wednesday with a 13-0 away win at Cricklade, Dominic Rekowski (4), Ross Shawe (3), James Evans (3), Jay Goddard, Danny Starling and Aaron Palmer their scorers.

However, Ferndale Rodbourne A remain favourites for the title and they won 6-1 away at Croft Juniors on the same night. Andrew Burke, Jason Cass, Steve Hill, Josh Parsons, Ryan Selby and Josh Skeates their scorers. Both Shaw and Ferndale won again on Sunday after having played each other in Saturday's cup final to go clear at the top.

Ferndale were 12-2 winners at Stratton Juniors A, Jack Gray and Arronjeet Kharaud getting the Stratton consolation goals.

Shaw won 8-4 at Liden, Dominic Rekowski (4), Aaron Webb (3) and Chris Olner for Shaw, Nathan Hudson (2), Lawrie Smith and Brad Thompson for Liden.

Lydiard Youth made sure of a play-off for the title when they won 4-2 at home against Old Town United. Sam Golding, Dan Stretton, Matthew Poole and Andrew Bradley with their goals. They will meet Fairford in the play-off.

  • Under 12 Division 1

Runners-up Ferndale Rodbourne continued their winning ways with a 12-0 win over Uffington United, Alex Henshall (4), Danny Pidgeon (4), Chris Jones (2) and David Maksymuk (2) with the Ferndale goals.

  • Under 12 Division 3

Penhill Allstars were crowned champions after they won a play-off played at the County Ground after the league cup finals. Marlborough led 1-0 at the break but three second half goals gave Penhill the title.

  • Under 11 North

Greenmeadow A went within a point of the title with their 18th consecutive victory, this time away at Siddington Youth, 7-1.

Jack Townsend hit a hat-trick, Connor Waldon bagged a brace and there was one for Harry Trott and Scott Price.

  • Under 11 West

Champions Highworth Town secured a 1-1 draw at Liden Community.

Old Town United made sure of runners-up spot on Sunday with an 8-1 away win at Lydiard Youth B, Luke Berwick fired a hat-trick, Adam Wooley hit two and there was one apiece for Ben Wallace, Cameron Baden and Sam Lofts, Jordan Lane replied for Lydiard.

Tetbury were crowned champions on Sunday with a 3-0 away win at Croft Juniors B, Anthony Hillman, Richard Cary and Jack Bromley with their goals.

Runners-up Stratton Youth, who had pushed Tetbury all the way also won at home to Westbrook but their 7-3 win means that even if they win their final game they can not now catch Tetbury.

On target for Stratton were Danny Bridgeman (3), Max Steadman (2), Michael Cannon and Billy Lowrey.

On Friday evening two goals from Joel Goddard gave Lydiard Youth a 2-1 win over Greenmeadow A.

Wootton Bassett completed their fixtures with a 5-1 win over Lydiard Youth, Tyler Amos bagging a hat-trick, Sam Lowkis and Callum Meehan with the other Bassett goals.

Bassett sit in third but must wait and see if Robins catch them by winning one of their two remaining games against champions Shaw.

Highworth Juniors A lost their chance of a play-off for the title when they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Fairford, Adam Clarke with the Highworth goal. This meant that Wickham Wanderers, who finished their fixtures some weeks earlier were crowned champions without the need for a play-off.

Eldene Rangers A secured the runners-up spot on Sunday with a 4-1 away win at Highworth Juniors B.

Star of the show was Jaeden Pedley who hit all four Eldene goals, Liam Marsden replied for Highworth.

Runners-up Coleshill Juniors completed their fixtures with a 2-1 win over Wroughton B on Saturday, Josh Riggs and George Humphries with the Coleshill goals.

Champions Swindon Soccer Skills A completed their fixtures with a 4-0 home win over Wroughton on Tuesday evening, Ross Algar (2), Gianluca Michienzi and Oliver Clark with their goals.

Stratton Juniors made sure of third place with a 6-0 home win over champions Robins, Jack Harris (3), Ross Loveridge (2) and Matthew Couzens with the Stratton goals.
