MICHAEL Rose is convinced Town are only two positive results away from clicking into gear, as the League One campaign goes past halfway.

Rose, whose fluctuating form has seen him in and out of the Swindon team over the opening five months of the season, is in line to face former side Yeovil Town tomorrow.

And the left-back is confident, with the fervour of the fans behind them, the Robins can start afresh as they set their sights up the league table.

“It’s a big game for us and one we really need to win,” he said.

“The league is still pretty tight, we’re only a couple of wins off the play-offs and, if you look at it that way, I don’t think there’s any need for alarms yet.

“Once we string a few wins together I think we’ll be alright.

“The fans have always got their part to play and I think the louder the better from them.”

Rose has happy memories of his time in Somerset.

The 28-year-old featured 41 times for the Huish Park outfit as, under the leadership of Yeovil’s current manager Terry Skiverton, the Glovers stormed to the League Two title in 2005.

The impact of Skiverton on Rose was such that, even then, Town’s free-kick expert could see the defender moving into management.

And he believes the 35-year-old is doing a sterling job down the A303 at present, given the tools he has to work with.

“I know the manager Skivvo, who was the captain when we won the league when I was there,” he said.

“I think he’s done a good job with them so far.

“He’s always been that type of man and he is Yeovil through and through.

“He was an influential character in the dressing room and he was always going into management.”
