DANNY Wilson wants the speculation around transfer targets to calm down as he looks to get the best out of his current crop.

Town face fellow strugglers Yeovil in League One tomorrow, with a win essential as they look to distance themselves from the bottom four.

Wilson knows part of the fun of being a football fan is premeditating any club’s revolving door, but whilst negotiations continue the Robins manager would prefer to set his mind on the players at his disposal.

“The most important thing is that we focus on what’s here now and not speculate who may come in and who may not come in because people get disappointed when it doesn’t happen,” he said.

“What we can do is concentrate as a group on our own game, our own players who are definitely going to be here, and take it forward from there.

“If anything happens after that, then it’s bonus time.”

Whilst management and fans alike are keen for new faces to arrive at the County Ground to help bolster the squad, Wilson insisted it is much easier said than done.

The Robins boss said, in the ever-changing world of the transfer market, pinning down the right man can be a tricky task.

Similarly, Town’s requirements shift regularly through injuries and suspensions, not to mention the impending sale of Sean Morrison to Reading.

But Wilson believes Swindon presents potential new signings with a good base to build their careers.

“The most difficult part is availability. If players are not available one week, the next week they may be available,” he said.

“It changes on a daily basis, and that’s the biggest problem we always have had and always will have.

“It’s a lot harder (to bring people in) because I think, from our point of view, positions have changed and are changing all the time.

“At one stage you’re looking for a wide area, then a centre-back gets injured so your priorities start to change. That’s been the difficulty from our point of view.

“What we’ve stood for and the type of player we’ve brought in suggests we are good for some people to come here. In that respect, that’s no different.”
