SWINDON Town must treat Exeter City with respect this weekend, in the opinion of Michael Timlin.

The Grecians are unbeaten in four outings going into tomorrow’s League One clash at the County Ground and boast in Ryan Harley one of the more precocious talents in the division.

And after watching the south west outfit’s formations and patterns this term, Timlin has stated Town need to harry their opponents into mistakes at the earliest possible opportunity as they search for three crucial points.

“The game on Saturday is now a massive game because they’re full of confidence when they’re playing well,” he said.

“They are a team that likes to pass the ball about a lot so we’re got to make sure we mix it up a bit.

“I’ve noticed that, when teams play them and press them really high, sometimes they can’t deal with it. We’ve got to make sure we’ve on our own game first of all and then see what happens.”

Timlin made special mention of Harley, who has been loaned back to Paul Tisdale’s Exeter after making the permanent switch to Swansea City this month.

But the Irishman said Swindon must concentrate on their own game rather than worry about the 26-year-old’s threat, as he and his teammates look to turn the Tuesday stalemate with Tranmere into weekend victory.

“We’ve seen Ryan Harley’s been doing extremely well this season and he’s got his move to Swansea and all credit to him,” he said.

“He’s done tremendously well and we have to plan for him playing and we’ve got to make sure we take the positive’s out of the game (on Tuesday night) when we go into the game with Exeter because it will definitely be a tough game.

“There’s no reason why we can’t go on and do the same performance (as against Tranmere) We were solid and we looked good, we can do that again.

“That’s what we need to get into our game this year - consistency.”
